Michael “Mike” O’Boyle is a distinguished senior healthcare executive with over 40 years of demonstrated success in developing and leading strategic initiatives, improving financial performance, and driving operational excellence.
Over the last decade, Mike has served public and private enterprises in numerous capacities, including as a consultant, operating partner, executive in residence, and portfolio company executive chair and board member. He authored the thesis and helped lead the evaluation of assets that led to the formation of nThrive; served on the boards of companies including M*Modal, Precyse, LifeCare, and Aspirion; and led the sale of Abeo Management Corporation (Abeo) for its previous owner. Most recently, he retired from full-time service as the CEO of Ventra Health, a diversified, technology-oriented, physician-focused revenue cycle management company.
Earlier in his career, Mike was a corporate officer and senior executive for some of the world’s leading healthcare organizations. He directed the initial commercialization of Parallon for HCA as the company’s President and CEO; he served the UnitedHealth Group as President of UnitedHealth Networks, managing provider-based contractual relationships for UnitedHealthcare’s various lines of business serving 25+ million members. For over eight years, he was successively the CFO and COO for the Cleveland Clinic, recognized across the globe for its expertise in healthcare delivery, scientific research, and education. Spanning a tenure of 10 years, he held various senior executive positions with MedStar Health, a leading provider of healthcare services to the Baltimore/Washington, DC metropolitan region.
Over the course of his professional life, in addition to his executive appointments, Mike has provided leadership to many other noteworthy organizations. Illustrative examples include Co-Chairmanship of the Healthcare Cabinet for the United Way of Greater Cleveland; membership on the Boards of Directors of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), United Medicorp Inc., and Hospital Billing and Collection Services Ltd. (HBCS), where he served as Chairman for three years; and for 13 years, as a Trustee of St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN.
Mike was recently elected to the Board of Trustees of his alma mater, DeSales University, from which he graduated summa cum laude.
