As Senior Vice President for Legal and Corporate Governance, Mahi Bala provides leadership to corporate legal matters, including contracts with clients and vendors, employment laws, labor laws, corporate secretarial issues, regulatory & statutory compliance requirements, including FEMA and RBI regulations, and provide legal support on an on-going basis to facilities, HR, procurement, finance, etc.,
Mahi Bala holds a graduate degree in Law (B.A, LL.B.) from Pondicherry University. She began her career practicing law in Chennai High Court, handling Civil and Labor Matters. Subsequently, she moved to Integrated Enterprises, where she managed Leases, Consumer Litigations, and all legal issues.
Later, she moved to Perot Systems, where she handled the contracts relating to its BPO segment. Her primary role comprised contract review, negotiation and execution, contract compliance implementation, and continuous monitoring. In addition, she also managed other legal matters, including Leases for all the facilities, HR matters, procurement contracts, litigation support, corporate Secretarial, and setting up the Manila entity for Perot Systems.
Post Dell acquisition, she handled matters relating to mergers & acquisitions, legal support for all facilities, HR, procurement, litigation, and other day-to-day legal and operational issues. She contributed to the functioning from a legal aspect for facilities, HR, and corporate secretarial due diligence team for all mergers & acquisitions undertaken by Dell globally.
From Dell, she moved on to work for Flextronics (the third largest global electronics manufacturing services, original design manufacturing company by revenue). At Flextronics, she was wholly responsible for setting up the contracts team for the legal department in India, creating and developing training materials, delivering training for the team members, and grooming the team members to handle global customer contracts.
Mahi Bala also chairs the sexual harassment committee for Access Healthcare. She is also the founder of MAITRI (a forum for women’s empowerment) at Access Healthcare.
